Holding On to Faith When It’s Hard

Devotional Reading

Estimated Time: 3–4 minutes

Faith doesn’t always feel strong. Sometimes it’s messy, fragile, or full of questions. You might be tempted to believe that doubt disqualifies you—but it doesn’t. Faith isn’t about having perfect confidence—it’s about showing up anyway.

In Mark 9:24, a desperate father cries out to Jesus:
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Jesus didn’t rebuke him. He helped him.

If all you can manage today is a whisper of belief, that’s enough. God isn’t asking you to pretend you’re okay—He’s asking you to trust that He still is. Hold on, even with trembling hands. You’re not holding God up—He’s holding you.

Reflection Prompt

Where are you wrestling with doubt or discouragement? Can you bring even that honestly to God?

Guided Prayer: When Your Faith Feels Fragile

Estimated Time: 2 minutes

God, I want to trust You—but I’m struggling. My faith feels small and uncertain. I don’t always understand what You’re doing.

Help me believe again. Show me glimpses of Your goodness. Remind me that I don’t have to feel strong to be held by You.

I bring You what I have today—and I trust You’ll meet me there. Amen.
